Function of the tire pressure loss warning system

The tire pressure loss warning system warns the driver by means of display messages when there is a severe tire pressure loss.

System limits

The system may be impaired or may not function particularly in the following situations:

  • Incorrectly set tire pressure
  • Sudden pressure loss caused, for example, by a foreign object penetrating the tire
  • Steady pressure loss in several tires

The system has a restricted or delayed function particularly in the following situations:

  • Poor ground conditions, e.g. snow or gravel
  • Driving with snow chains
  • When adopting a very sporty driving style with high cornering speeds or sudden acceleration
  • Driving with a very heavy or large trailer
  • Driving with a high load

The tire pressure loss warning system is only an aid. It is the driver's responsibility to set the tire pressure to the recommended cold tire pressure suitable for the operating situation and to check it.

Restarting the tire pressure loss warning system

Requirements:

  • The recommended tire pressure is correctly set for the respective operating status on each of the four wheels.

Restart the tire pressure loss warning system in the following situations:

  • The tire pressure has changed.
  • The wheels or tires have been changed or newly installed.

Mercedes-Benz GLC. Tire pressure loss warning system Swipe downwards on Touch Control on the left-hand side of the steering wheel.

The driver display shows the Run Flat Indicator Active Restart: Press Touch Control message.

Mercedes-Benz GLC. Tire pressure loss warning system To initiate a restart, press Touch Control on the left-hand side of the steering wheel. The driver display shows the Tire Pressure Now OK? message.

Mercedes-Benz GLC. Tire pressure loss warning system Select Yes.

Mercedes-Benz GLC. Tire pressure loss warning system To confirm restart, press Touch Control on the left-hand side of the steering wheel. The driver display shows the Run Flat Indicator Restarted message.
