Mercedes-Benz GLC : Changing a wheel / Preparing the vehicle for a wheel change
Requirements:
- The required tire-change tool kit is available.
If your vehicle is not equipped with the tirechange
tool kit, consult a qualified specialist
workshop to find out about suitable tools.
- The vehicle is not on a slope.
- The vehicle is on solid, non-slippery and level
ground.
Apply the electric parking
brake manually.
Move the front wheels to the
straight-ahead
position.
Vehicles with automatic
transmission:
Shift into position
.
Vehicles with level control
system: Set the
normal vehicle level.
Switch off the engine.
Make sure that the engine
cannot be started.
Place chocks or other suitable
items under
the front and rear of the wheel that is diagonally
opposite the wheel you wish to change.
If necessary, remove the wheel
trim/hub
caps.
Raise the vehicle.

center cover of the hub
cap counter-clockwise and remove the hub
cap...
Other information:
Apply the electric parking
brake.
Shift the transmission to
position .

in the cargo compartment
trim briefly.
Indicator lamp flashes
until the vehicle
has been lowered.
Lowering is interrupted in the following situations:
a vehicle door is opened...

Left-hand standing lamps
Right-hand standing lamps
Parking lamps and license plate
lamp
Automatic driving lights (preferred
light
switch position)
Low beam/high beam
Switches the rear fog lamp on or
off
When low beam is activated, the
indicator
lamp for the parking lamps will be deactivated
and replaced by the low-beam
