Also observe the following information when
fording:
- Vehicles with AIR BODY CONTROL: select
the highest possible vehicle level
- Drive no faster than 6 mph (10 km/h).
- Observe the maximum permissible fording
depth.
- Switch off automatic climate control.
- Ensure that a bow wave does not form as you
drive.
- Do not stop in the water and do not switch
off the engine. Ensure the ECO start/stop
function is switched off.
When driving on sand, also observe the following
instructions:
Select the drive program.
Select a higher vehicle level.
Shift to a lower gear.
Drive quickly to overcome the rolling resistance;
the vehicle may otherwise dig itself in...
Also observe the following information when
driving in mountainous terrain:
Observe the values of the approach/departure
angle and of the maximum gradient...
Other information:
US tire regulations stipulate that every tire manufacturer
or retreader must imprint a TIN in or
on the side wall of each tire produced.
The data shown in the image is example
data.
The TIN is a unique identification number to
identify tires and comprises the following:
DOT (Department of Transportation): tire
symbol marks indicating that
the tire
complies with the requirements of the US
Department of Transportation...
Requirements:
The ignition is switched off.
To activate: press button
for approximately one second.
A visual and audible alarm is triggered.
To deactivate: briefly press button
again.
